About the Lab

The Schaaf Lab at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute of Texas Children’s Hospital is dedicated to understanding the genetic basis for neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. The research team in the Schaaf Lab utilizes mouse models to yield insights into the behavior and physiology of these disorders, and uses pluripotent stem cell technology to further analyze and develop novel therapeutic strategies for these conditions. The Schaaf Lab works directly with patients and their families, to collect data and fibroblast cultures, in order to learn more and provide in-depth analysis.
