Sponsored Research Agreements for Basic Research
Sponsored Research Agreements for basic research are used to provide funding and govern the activities of a sponsor, typically a for-profit company, and Baylor College of Medicine as well as their roles in a proposed research project. There is a well-defined scope of work with expected deliverables included with this agreement. The agreement also governs the process by which any intellectual property that may result from the project may be handled. If you have been approached by a for-profit entity to perform sponsored research please contact the Baylor Licensing Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Service and Testing Agreements
Service Agreements govern a fee for service performed in the lab. There is a well-defined scope of work to be performed and it is expected that all data will be given to the requestor and not retained by Baylor College of Medicine. There is no expectation for new intellectual property or publication rights. Depending on the type of service being requested, the BLG or the OGC will take care of this request. Please contact email@example.com to get the processing of the agreement started.
Research Collaborations are typically between academic institutions and do not include funding. Similar to the Sponsored Research Agreement, a well-defined scope of work is included. The agreement also governs the process by which any intellectual property that may result from the project may be handled. If you would like to pursue collaboration with a peer at another institution please contact the Baylor Licensing Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
