Gene Expression

This core consists of three sub-cores that will provide the histology, imaging and pathology services most in demand by BCM-IDDRC members and most efficiently provided by specialists and specialized equipment. The Neuropathology core provides conventional histology of human and mouse samples with emphasis on the nervous system, the confocal microscope core provides access to three confocal microscope systems and a cryostat, training, ongoing support and where needed, sample preparation for microscope users, the RNA in situ core provides robotic sample preparation and high throughput analysis of RNA expression with emphasis on the mouse brain. The three cores will continue to participate in in-depth collaborations with investigators and each core will provide services and charge fees that are at a reduced rate for BCM-IDDRC members.
