The proteomics core utilizes mass spectrometers in the Qin lab to meet the proteomic needs of DRC members. The two capillary HPLC-ESI-LTQ instruments were purchased using start-up fund and the NURSA grant. The DRC grant provides partial support for technical personnel.
The core provides services for protein identification and post-translational modification (PTM) sites mapping with mass spectrometry incorporating database searching. DRC members submit protein bands excised from SDS-PAGE gel to the core for analysis.
- $250/band is charged for protein ID
- $800/band for phosphorylation site mapping
- $2,000/band for combined phosphorylation, methylation, and acetylation site mapping
- $2,000 is charged for ubiquitination site mapping.
