The BodyGuards Volunteer Program

Our mission is to provide a variety of opportunities for individuals to work in community outreach events sponsored by Baylor College of Medicine. The overarching goal is to promote awareness, education and prevention of diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and cancer, which are highly prevalent in medically underserved communities.

As a BodyGuards volunteer, you will work with the OOHD and the Sugar, Heart and Life Program. The goals of the volunteer program include:

  • Educating the community about diabetes prevention and management, as well as healthy lifestyles
  • Reducing cancer health disparities in medically underserved communities through cancer prevention and early screening
  • Developing a group of dedicated volunteers and provide them with outreach opportunities in the community
  • Enhance BCM’s outreach efforts in the communityBodyGuards Volunteers
