Clinical Research & Practice Training
The Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center is committed to training physicians who wish to pursue a career in academic breast care. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has recognized the unique opportunities the center offers a physician who wishes to develop expertise in the multidisciplinary care of women with breast disease and breast cancer. The center has been awarded the center an Interdisciplinary Breast Fellowship Program Grant.
Individuals who have completed a fellowship in medical oncology who wish to develop expertise in clinical and translational research in preparation for a career in an academic breast center benefit from a two year fellowship which provides training in all facets of breast care. The Komen fellow will design and complete a research project in conjunction with a faculty mentor.
