Nominations are closed until Spring 2020.

Baylor College of Medicine faculty members are invited to nominate colleagues for Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Excellence in Research Awards.

To be eligible for nomination, faculty members must have made a significant published scientific contribution to clinical or basic biomedical research during the past three years. Any faculty member may submit a nomination. The nominee must be a full-time faculty member. Previous recipients are eligible to win again; however, they must wait two years after receiving the award to be reconsidered for nomination. Faculty receiving the award three times will be retired from further consideration.

Nominations should consist of the following:

  1. A nomination letter and a brief statement outlining the significance of the published research (accomplished by the nominee while at the College).
  2. A copy of the nominee's current NIH biosketch.
  3. One copy of each of the selected papers upon which the nomination is based (maximum of three papers).
