GeneChip® probe arrays are manufactured through a unique and robust process, a combination of photolithography and combinational chemistry. With a minimum number of synthesis steps, the technology produces arrays with hundreds of thousands of different probes packed at an extremely high density enabling researchers to obtain high quality, genome-wide data using small sample volumes. The Genomic and RNA Profiling Core processes RNA and DNA samples for use on the Affymetrix GeneChip® platform. Prices and services are shown below for Baylor clients.

|Sample Quality Control (Diluted) PicoChip - One small concentration (< 25 ng/µl) sample tested for quality assessment on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer using the Lab-On-A-Chip Technology and the Nanodrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer. Please bring samples during normal sample drop-off times.||$24/sample|
|Sample Quality Control (Diluted) NanoChip - One sample (between 25 ng/µl and 500 ng/µl) tested for quality assessment on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer using the Lab-On-A-Chip Technology and the Nanodrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer. NOTE: Users wishing to submit aRNA (amplified RNA) need to READ and UNDERSTAND the protocol that they plan to use and have VERY GOOD experimental design so that usable material is the result (i.e., labeled appropriately). Users who wish to do amplification of small quantities of RNA should meet with GARP before starting their experiment to make sure their experimental design is appropriate.
