Professional Statement
Dr. Hsu is Division Chief of Emergency Medicine at Texas Children’s where she is responsible for three Emergency Departments within the Texas Children’s system that provides quaternary and tertiary emergency care for over 160,000 patients annually. She has served as BCM faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and as an attending physician at Texas Children’s since 2000. In 2018, Dr. Hsu was appointed Division Chief of BCM Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). In this capacity, she leads a Division with almost 70 faculty, 20 fellows, and several supporting staff members. Her prior educational and clinical leadership roles include Program Director of the BCM PEM Fellowship, Associate Program Director of the BCM Pediatric Residency, and PEM Division Clinical and Education Chief. Her current national roles include service on the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine (AAP SOEM) Executive Committee (Chair), American Board of Pediatrics Emergency Medicine Subboard (Credentialing Committee Chair), Subspecialty Pediatrics Investigator Network Steering Committee, and the Advisory Committee of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Longitudinal Education Assessment Research Network. She previously served on the following AAP SOEM Subcommittees: Fellowship Directors (Chair), Education (inaugural Chair) and Women in PEM (Executive Committee member). She has also worked on the Editorial Board of AAP PREP E-Med and on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Pediatric Emergency Medicine Milestones 2.0 Project.Websites
