Basic Science Research Training
Pediatric Neurology and Developmental Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine emphasizes programs of basic science research training to better understand the mechanisms of pediatric neurological disorders and to translate those findings into improved clinical therapies.
The Gordon and Mary Cain Pediatric Neurology Research Foundation Laboratories, located in Texas Children's Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, is a primary sponsor of this research training.
Opportunities currently exist through the NIH-sponsored Postdoctoral Training Program in Brain Disorders and Development, and through the Cain Foundation Fellowship Program. These programs are designed to provide multidisciplinary training to young scientists interested in developing new therapies and cures for debilitating neurological disorders in infants and young children. Prospective students are invited to visit these sites for additional information on applying to these programs.
