COVID-19 exposure/symptom guidelines

Baylor's Incident Command Center has developed guidance on actions to take if you suspect you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 infection, or if you develop symptoms typical of COVID-19. See the guidelines on the Coronavirus Response website.

HR COVID-19 related updates

  • Benefits-eligible employees enrolled in a Baylor medical plan who are concerned they may have COVID-19 symptoms can request a virtual office visit through Teladoc, AmWell and Doctor on Demand. Use these step-by-step instructions to schedule your virtual visit today.
  • The contract between UnitedHealthcare and Houston Methodist hospitals ended on Dec. 31, 2019. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Houston Methodist physician's contract with UnitedHealthcare has been extended to June 1, 2020. Houston Methodist facilities still remain out-of-network at this time. Read more about this update and available resources for employees enrolled in a Baylor medical plan.

Donate blood

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is hosting mobile blood drives to address the blood shortage that the region currently is experiencing. It’s important to know that donating blood is safe during the COVID-19 pandemic – the disease is a respiratory virus but is not blood borne. See mobile locations online.

April 1: Zoom DocTalk on mental health

A DocTalk will be held by Zoom on Wednesday, April 1, at noon, to address anxiety and mental health issues that have developed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion will be led by Dr. Asim Shah, professor and executive vice chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences. Register to attend. TMC Library operations

The TMC Library remains closed to visitors and is now offering virtual services only. Please use the website to request a virtual meeting, access chat services or search for information.

The deadline to submit the 2019 Annual Financial Disclosure is being extended to May 31 but why not just cross this off your to-do list by completing now? Go to the DOI Portal to complete and submit, and see the DOI webpage for more information. Additional questions can be directed to compliance@bcm.edu or research.coi@bcm.edu.
