As part of medical school orientation, first-year students and 25 second-year student leaders participated in a Community Service Day in July. Students went to one of 11 Houston-area community sites where they were challenged to complete a project that would positively impact the patient population targeted at that facility.

Tasks included painting, cleaning, organizing, planting, hedging, weeding, laying sod, cholesterol screening and more.
