BCM Recycles! awarded Coca-Cola grant to expand recycling program
June 1, 2012
BCM Recycles! will get a boost to its recycling efforts this summer thanks to a grant made possible by the Coca-Cola Foundation. The grant will fund the addition of 40 recycling bins to expand BCM's recycling efforts.
"Through our partnership with Keep America Beautiful, the Coca-Cola Bin Grant Program supports local community recycling efforts across the United States," said Lori George Billingsley, vice president of community relations for Coca-Cola Refreshments. "We are pleased that these bins being utilized at Baylor College of Medicine will provide additional opportunities for people to recycle."
Grant recipients were chosen by Keep America Beautiful based on a number of criteria including level of need, recycling experience and the ability of applicants to sustain their program in the future.
BCM Recycles! is excited to be able to expand its program and will provide bins to laboratories or departments that currently do not have plastic and aluminum recycling containers. Training is also available on how and where to recycle, as well as how to quantify your contribution to BCM's recycling program.
If your laboratory or department is interested in receiving recycling bins, please contact Gabi De la Rosa, firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-798-1051, for more information.
