Zoghbi director of new collaborative Neurological Research Institute

Dr. Huda Zoghbi, Baylor College of Medicine professor of molecular and human genetics, pediatrics, neurology, and neuroscience, has worked collaboratively throughout her career with much success. Now she will bring that experience to bear as director of the new Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital.

Allied Health students graduate, receive honors for work

Students from BCM's School of Allied Health participated in commencement Dec. 4 at the University of Houston. Degrees were conferred by Dr. Paul Klotman, BCM president and CEO, to 32 physician assistant and 14 nurse anesthesia students.

Health Hints

If your New Year's resolutions include a vow to lose weight, remember to set realistic expectations, have a cheering section, drink plenty of water and change things up if you hit a plateau. Don't underestimate the impact that losing just 5 to 10 percent of your total weight has on overall health, including heart health, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
