Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital are recruiting campers for this year's Kamp K'aana, a weight-management summer camp that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

The camp includes a comprehensive, fun-based weight management program for children ages 10 to 14. Children attend a two-week sleep-away camp at Cho Yeh Camp and Conference Center in Livingston. Daily lessons about the food guide pyramid, food label reading and staying active help kids learn to make healthy choices. Activities include swimming, horseback riding, pedal carts, soccer, basketball, lake fun, ropes courses and a rock wall.

This year's two-week camp is from Aug. 1-14. Deadline for registration is July 6. For more information on the camp, call 832-822-4780 or visit the Kamp K'aana website. Financial assistance will be available to low-income families in need of assistance.
