Two more Baylor College of Medicine clinical practices – dermatology and plastic surgery – are moving to the McNair Campus. Patients of both practices will be seen at the new location on the 6th floor in the Medical Building, 1977 Butler Blvd., beginning Monday, July 18.
The new locations for the department of dermatology and the division of plastic surgery within the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery include the clinics, administrative and physician offices.
"This is a state-of-the-art building that is patient-friendly in every way. It is outside of the main cluster of the Texas Medical Center and also will have a surgery center set up for easier access to outpatient procedures," said Dr. Samuel Stal, professor and chief of the division of plastic surgery at BCM. "This new facility will allow our doctors to continue training new medical professionals as well as continue their cutting-edge research."
Dr. John Wolf, professor and chair of dermatology at BCM, said the move is a natural progression for the clinic.
Room to grow
"We have been able to expand our practice and continue our research and educational outreach," Wolf said. "This move will give us room for growth to bring more services to our patients."
The Medical Office Building opened in November of 2008. It is now home to several BCM clinical practices and programs, including the Baylor Eye Clinic, the Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders Center, the department of psychiatry and the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
