Robert C. McNair, nationally recognized businessman and philanthropist, will speak at Baylor College of Medicine's commencement this year.
McNair is chairman and CEO of The McNair Group, Palmetto Partners Ltd. and RCM Financial Services as well as the founder, chairman and CEO of the Houston Texans football team. He also serves as the chairman of the McNair Foundation and the Houston Texans Foundation.
McNair has been on the BCM Board of Trustees since 1994. He is a longtime supporter of the M.D./Ph.D. program at BCM and in 2007, along with his wife Janice, established the McNair Scholars Program at BCM to recruit world-class researchers and physician-scientists who will expedite discoveries that will lead to new medical advances and cures.
Baylor's commencement ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 25, at 7 p.m. in the Jesse H. Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana Avenue. The 2010 graduating class includes 152 medical school graduates and 72 graduates from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at BCM.
