Baylor College of Medicine welcomes its newest team member, Carli Lloyd, world champion soccer player and Olympic gold medalist. In her role as brand ambassador for Baylor, Lloyd will share her commitment to teamwork with a focus on the strength, confidence and dedication it takes to be the best in the field, whether it’s healthcare or competitive soccer.
Lloyd will work alongside Baylor physicians to encourage the community to focus on healthcare and wellness, for individuals and families.
“We are working together to bring awareness to the importance of healthcare and how as a team of physicians, healthcare professionals and scientists, Baylor College of Medicine is committed to providing the best healthcare to the community,” said Dr. Paul Klotman, president, CEO and executive dean of Baylor College of Medicine.
Lloyd knows the value of teamwork in achieving goals. As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, Carli is a 2008 and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, scoring game-winning goals in the finals of both Olympic Games. She also is a 2015 World Cup Champion as well as the 2015 and 2016 FIFA World Player of the Year, one of only two women to earn the recognition in consecutive years.
“I think what is great about the Baylor team is that it resonates with who I am as an individual,” Lloyd said. “I am someone who is striving for excellence, who is striving to be the best in their particular field. It was honestly a no brainer to team up because they are the best.”
Lloyd will be a key player in a series of digital and print advertising across the Houston area.
