Kingwood tennis tournament to benefit pediatric cancer research

The Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the pediatric cancer program of the NCI-designated Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine, will be the beneficiary of the 2nd Annual Kingwood Life Time Fitness Tennis Pro-Am Invitational Sept. 28-29.

The invitational will pair Life Time Fitness Tennis members with the Houston area’s most elite tennis professionals.

On Friday, Sept. 28, Life Time Fitness Tennis will host a casino-themed party with dealers and tables that is open to the public. Tickets are $50 and include dinner and an open bar. A silent auction and Calcutta auction will also be held.

The tournament play begins Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. and is free and open to the public. For $25, spectators can purchase a ticket to eat breakfast and lunch alongside the players.

All proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research at the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.

The center is ranked No. 4 in the country and No. 1 in Texas for treating pediatric cancer by U.S. News & World Report. The pediatric cancer program conducts or participates in 154 clinical trials, 68 of which are Cancer Center-initiated treatment studies.
