Baylor College of Medicine has honored five of its leading faculty with the 2018 Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Excellence in Research Award, which recognizes published scientific contributions to clinical or basic biomedical research over the past three years.
Neurosurgeon and scientist Dr. Sameer Sheth has been named the newest McNair Scholar at Baylor College of Medicine. He is joining the Baylor faculty as an associate professor and vice-chair of clinical research in the Department of Neurosurgery.
Dr. Lynn Zechiedrich was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a status bestowed to academic inventors who demonstrate a spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating inventions that make a tangible impact.
Dr. Trey Westbrook has been named the newest McNair Scholar. This recognition will support his work focused on discovering the genes and mechanisms that drive breast cancer and developing the next generation of cancer medicines.
