The faculty will compare and contrast contraindications when making selection decisions for using IV thrombolysis in acute stroke care.

Goals and Learning Objectives

The goal of the Controversies in IV thrombolysis for acute stroke: Reconsidering the Contraindications activity is to educate healthcare professionals with the latest findings and controversies around thrombolysis in acute stroke care. Participants will learn how to:

  • Discuss the barriers to utilization of thrombolysis
  • List the current relative and absolute contraindications for thrombolysis in acute stroke
  • Identify the areas of uncertainty regarding contraindications for thrombolysis

Target Audience

The target audience includes neurologists, neuroscience nurses, emergency department physicians and nurses, hospitalists and other healthcare professionals who provide care to stroke patients.
