Michael J. Fox will be the special guest at the Parkinson's Research Endowment Fund Dinner March 6.

The dinner will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Houston Intercontinental Hotel, 2222 West Loop South. Proceeds go to the Parkinson's Research Endowment Fund at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

"New discoveries have led to treatments that are not only designed to treat the disabling symptoms of Parkinson's, but also to slow down or prevent the progression of the disease," said Dr. Joseph Jankovic, director of the Parkinson's Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic at Baylor. "This event will provide us with the resources needed to enhance our chances of finding the cure."

The Parkinson's Research Endowment Fund was started in 1999 with a dinner honoring President George Bush and his wife Barbara. The group has raised nearly $900,000 since it was founded and hopes to top last's year total of $375,000.

Honorees for the dinner are Parkinson's patients, Andrew Delaney and Aubrey Calvin. Honorary chairs for the dinner are Harriet Latimer and her husband Truett Latimer. Harriet Latimer is the sister of Aubrey Calvin.

Individual tickets are $250. Sponsorships are available at the $2,500 level and up. Major donors may have their pictures taken by renowned photographer Mark Seliger at the VIP reception.
