Mouse Clone Sets
Mouse BMAP (Brain Molecular Anatomy Project)
This library is a result of an initiative by the National Institutes of Mental Health and Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIMH & NINDS) to map the mammalian nervous system and the brain. This collection represents the Unigene subset of a larger cDNA library which is a composite of many brain-tissue specific tissues including the cerebellum, brain stems, olfactory bulbs, hypothalamus, prefrontal cortex, amygdala, basal ganglia, pineal glands, corpus striatum, hippocampus, enthorinal cortex, dentate gyrus and the spinal cord of C57/BLK6 mice. The library was constructed at the University of Iowa and is supplied by Research Genetics. Additional sublibraries for the eye are being added. In all there are over 30,000 individual clones in this set and more information can be found at the Research Genetics Website.
Mouse Retina cDNA Clones
The mouse retina non-redundant set was generated for the NIH - University of Iowa Brain Molecular Anatomy Project: NIH-BMAP, and contains about 12,000 clones. The clones in this set were chosen by applying the University of Iowa clustering method to sequences generated from Soares non-normalized, normalized, and serially subtracted cDNA libraries constructed from mouse neonatal, embryonic, and adult retina specific tissues. GARP just recently purchased this set from Open Biosystems to expand the previous Retina Specific set which was incomplete and only contained 6,000 clones.
Mouse NIA 15K Set
This Mouse NIA 15K Clone Set is part of the NIA's Mouse Genomics Project and contains ~15,000 "unique" cDNA clones from pre- and perimplantation embryos, E12.5 female gonad/mesonephros, and newborn ovaries. Up to 50 % of these clones are derived from novel genes and all of the clones were sequence verified. The clone set was constructed through the efforts of the NIA (National Institute on Aging) and provided to us through Vanderbilt University.
Mouse NIA 7.4K Set
The Mouse NIA 7.4K Clone Set contains around 7400 cDNA clones with no redundancy within the set or with NIA Mouse 15K Set. The clones contain ~1.5 kb average insert size for short insert clones and ~2.5-3.0 kb average insert size for long-insert enriched clones. The clone set was constructed through the efforts of the NIA (National Institute on Aging) and provided to us through Vanderbilt University.
Mouse Pancreas 3.5K Set
The Pancreas 3.5 clone set of 3139 non-redundant mouse IMAGE clones was chosen using a combination of expression analysis and database mining. The clone set was constructed through the efforts of the EPCon (Endocrine Pancreas Consortium) and the University of Pennsylvania.
Mouse RIKEN FANTOM1 21K Set
The RIKEN FANTOM1 21K clone set consists of 21,076 fully sequenced mouse cDNA clones prepared from full-length enriched libraries at the RIKEN Institute, as part of the Mouse Encyclopedia Project. The total number of genes represented by the whole RIKEN set is 15,295.
