You may have a sudden loss of voice after strenuous voice use.

How do you diagnose a vocal fold hemorrhage?

The diagnosis is made by laryngoscopy performed by an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor).

How do you treat a vocal fold hemorrhage?

The treatment is strict voice rest with follow-up laryngoscopy to ensure that the hematoma (collection of blood) resolves.
