WATCH-PD: A Multicenter, Prospective, Longitudinal, Digital Assessment Study of Disease Progression in Subjects with Early, Untreated Parkinson Disease

The WATCH-PD study is being conducted by the Parkinson Study Group (PSG), a multi-national group of PD specialists and researchers, under the sponsorship of University of Rochester, Rochester, New York.

This is an observational research study.  The main goal of this study is to compare the ability of measurements obtained from wearable digital devices (including sensors, smart phones and smart watches) with traditional clinic exams and questionnaires in detecting progressive changes in movement, thinking (cognition), mood, activities of daily living and quality of life in individuals with early, untreated PD over a one-year period.  We will also assess if it is possible to use and manage these devices effectively away from the clinic setting (e.g., at home).  Finally, we will compare results with a control group without PD who are similar age.

This study is closed for enrollment.
