Peyronie's Disease

The advent of drugs that enhance erectile function has also brought increased numbers of patients to physicians for treatment of Peyronie's disease, a condition that causes curvature of the penis and painful erections.

Symptoms. Symptoms are penile angulation and pain.

Diagnosis. Diagnosis may be made at physical examination if palpable plaques are found along the penile shaft.

Treatment. Treatment may be medical or surgical. The vast majority of patients with Peyronie's disease do not require surgery.
