About the Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinic

Mission Statement: Extend Texas Medical Center-quality preventive health care including family planning services to Houston’s under -served youth

Vision: Prepare underserved youth to become healthy and achieve their full potential as community members

Values: Adaptive, accessible, accountable, collaborative, quality driven, inclusive of all youth, respectful, focused on primary prevention, cost-effective

Population we serve:  Ages 13-24, both female and male

Geography:  Brick and mortar facilities and program development activities in Harris County 

Core Activities

- Pregnancy testing and prevention counseling 
- Contraception
- STD/HIV prevention counseling, STD/HIV screening, STD treatment 
- Comprehensive physicals
- Sports physicals
- Immunizations
- Referrals to partner programs as needed

Support services integral with above Core Activities

- Social services 
- Behavioral and mental health counseling

Auxiliary Activities

- Nurse Family Partnership - Registered nurse home visits for prenatal care to 1st-time moms
- Ascend – career preparation and training
- Telepsychology services (Wisdom HS location) 
- Sick visits for minor ailments (Wisdom HS, Worthing HS, Milby HS, and Tejano Center locations)
