About the Center for Advanced Endoscopy

The Baylor College of Medicine Center for Advanced Endoscopy is one of the largest referral practices for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in Houston, Texas. The center, through its three major affiliates, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Ben Taub Hospital, offers a variety of advanced therapeutic endoscopic services including diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP for:

  • Management of benign and malignant biliary strictures
  • Comprehensive management of chronic and recurrent pancreatitis with pancreatic sphincterotomy, stricture dilation and stent placement
  • Difficult ERCPs in patients with post-surgical anatomy

Additional Services

Other advanced therapeutic endoscopic services include:

  • Endoscopic submucosal dissection
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound with fine-needle aspiration
  • Advanced therapeutic endoscopy in other gastroenterologic diseases, including metallic stent placement for gastrointestinal malignancies
  • Advanced endoscopic approaches to Barrett's esophagus including BARRx radiofrequency ablation, cryotherapy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and optical coherence tomography
