Educational Innovations Day
The Baylor College of Medicine Office of Faculty Development is accepting abstracts for the 2014 Annual BCM Educational Innovations Day, April 30, 2014. The deadline to submit an abstract is 11:59 p.m. CST Monday, March 3.
The theme for the 2014 conference is Educational Innovations: Novel Ideas and Best Practices. Educators in all disciplines throughout the College are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentation. The abstracts will be reviewed and selected for presentation based on importance and innovation of topic, clarity of writing, execution and generalizability across disciplines. Scientific rigor is NOT the main theme of the Educational Innovations day, but rather novel approaches to educational interventions.
Please submit with the following format (limit abstract to 300 words):
- Title of Program/Project/Course:
- Needs/Measurable objectives: Can include background - i.e.why was this educational intervention indicated? What do the educators hope to achieve?
- Description of program/project: can include participants, setting, educational strategies, how it is innovative?
- Discussion/reflection/lessons learned: what have you achieved/learned up to this point? Potential for impact?
Accepted abstracts will be given 10 minutes for oral presentation followed by five minutes for Q&A at some point in the program.
Notification of acceptance will be sent out by March 22. All presenters will be required to submit their slides to the UME office by April 22.
