Master of Education in Teaching

The University of Houston Master of Education in Teaching with an emphasis in the Health Sciences is designed to meet the needs of the medical educator who is seeking to increase his or her skills and learn more about the science of medical education. The degree is granted through the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education. This 30 semester hour curriculum is normally completed in two years, but students may take up to five years to complete the coursework. Courses will be taught in the medical center or on-line via the Internet. Course content will emphasize applications in the health venue settings. Up to nine semester hours (with the approval of the advisor and the associate dean for graduate studies) of transfer credit can be accepted.

The applicant will be expected to meet the admissions requirements for the College of Education graduate study as specified in the current issue of the University of Houston Catalog.
