Baylor College of Medicine Genetic Counseling Program will not be offering a summer internship this year. In lieu of an internship, an annual Genetic Counseling Career Interest Workshop will be held again in the summer of 2023. This will allow us to engage a greater number of individuals than would be feasible through an internship. Stay tuned for additional information.
Annual Genetic Counseling Information Workshop
We plan to offer another virtual half-day workshop for individuals interested in the profession of genetic counseling next summer. Attendees at the 2022 workshop had the opportunity to meet with Baylor College of Medicine faculty and alumni. This workshop is geared towards individuals who are interested in, and passionate about, genetic counseling.
Here is the agenda from the last workshop:
- A day in the Life of a Genetic Counselor (Four different specialty areas)
- Pedigree Workshop
- Patients as Teachers Panel
- Conversations with Genetic Counselors in a variety of Practice areas
- Genetic Counseling Program Information
Details related to the 2023 workshop will be provided next spring.
