Research Interests:

Dr. Wong's translational research focuses on new approaches that integrate bioimaging, systems biology, chemical biology, and biophysics to better understand complex disease mechanisms and developing new strategies, techniques, tools, biomarkers, and small molecule drugs for cost-effective detection, diagnosis, therapy, and follow up of neurodegeneration and cancer. Examples of his group's current research projects include: systems and chemical biology methods for fast track drug repositioning, modeling of cancer initiation and development, development of biomarker and drug cocktail for neurological disorders and cancer, the development of molecular image-guided cancer therapy platforms, the development of point-of-care molecular imaging diagnosis and monitoring devices using molecular vibrational imaging techniques such as CARS and SRS, and understanding the signaling and cross-talks mechanisms of Alzheimer's and tumor metastatis.
