The Baylor College of Medicine PREP alumni are members of a lifelong network of successful graduate students who have made strides and significant contribution to biomedical research. 

  • 80 percent of PREP alumni have enrolled in Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or D.O./Ph.D. programs (36 percent at BCM, 64 percent at other Ph.D. granting institutions)
  • 93 percent Retention rate of PREP alumni in graduate school
  • 37 alumni have earned Ph.D.s and are employed in academia (post-docs), industry, education, scientific writing, and consulting.

The BCM PREP Alumni have successfully achieve a Ph.D. from many prestigious institutions, including Albert Einstein, Baylor College of Medicine (32 postbacs), Emory University, Harvard, New York University, Northwestern University, University of Alabama, University of Arizona, University of Delaware, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of New Mexico, University of Texas Health Science Center, University of Texas Medical Branch, University of Texas at San Antonio, University of Texas-Southwestern, Vanderbilt, and Washington University at St. Louis.

Those who choose a medical path have gone on to the University of Arizona Medical School, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Yale, as well as many other advanced educational programs! They also go on to win many research, academic, and travel awards in their Ph.D. pursuit.
