Free if accessing on campus with BCM WiFi, or off-campus with VPN.

If students/faculty access the site on campus (with BCM WiFi) the site will recognize them and they won’t be asked to pay for a subscription.  If students/faculty access the site away from campus (like from home), then they need to be on VPN.  If they are off campus and not on VPN, then they will be prompted to pay for a subscription.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Baylor College of Medicine’s VPN solution allows employees/students who are connected to the Internet through their own private connection (DSL, cable modem, AT&T U-verse, etc.) to access BCM computing resources as if they were physically connected to Baylor’s network.

In order to use a VPN connection, you will be required to install and configure the VPN software on the computer that you will be using to remotely connect to the Baylor network. BCM Office of Information Technology provides the VPN software  client and the instructions to download and install it.
