Mentor Moments is designed to help faculty better understand mentorship and build relationships both as a mentor and mentee. In this video series, faculty at various points in their career discuss what mentorship means for them and how it has helped them in their career. They also provide advise and guidance for identifying mentors, structuring mentor/mentee relationships and much more.

Dr. Alicia D.H. Monroe

Dr. Alicia D.H. Monroe holds the position of Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic and Faculty Affairs providing leadership and support to College’s four schools. She is also responsible for designing a comprehensive faculty orientation and development program including faculty mentoring and career development.

James R. Walker

As well as being an associate professor of anesthesiology and health professions, Dr. James Walker is director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (Nurse Anesthesia). He is also a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital.

Dr. Tyson Pillow

Dr. Tyson Pillow is medical director for the Simulation and Standardized Patient Program in the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education as well as assistant professor of medicine- emergency medicine.

Dr. Carolyn Smith

Dr. Carolyn Smith, interim dean of the Graduate School as of July 1, 2019, former senior associate dean of Graduate Education and Academic Program Development for the Graduate School, and associate professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology.
