Our Biodesign elective courses were created specifically for BCM Medical Students in mind. Ranging from ‘TMC Tech Talks’ to hands-on needs validation and concept design, they offer a unique experience for BCM Medical Students to understand and engage in the principles and applications of Biodesign.

Biodesign 1.1 (TMC Tech Talks) was recently approved as a foundational elective course for 2018-2019 Term 4 (March 4 to May 10).

This course will highlight and discuss innovations in medical technologies and digital health platforms currently being developed within the Texas Medical Center. The talks will consist of a variety of TMC-affiliated clinicians, entrepreneurs, and innovators presenting on their experiences with medical technology research and development. Each talk will follow up with a short quiz. 

Classes run from 12 to 1 p.m. on the following dates: March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3, April 10, April 17, and April 24.
