George P. Noon, M.D., Professor of Surgery, was awarded the Roy M. Huffington Award April 2. The award was presented to him at the 2014 Huffington Health Forum and Luncheon, held at River Oaks Country Club.
Dr. Noon is a member of multiple societies, has been invited as a guest lecturer and surgeon throughout the world, and has authored more than 350 publications. He is internationally known and respected for his pioneering research and clinical expertise in transplantation and assist devices.
The Roy M. Huffington Award for Excellence, is an award that is all about living a life committed to excellence. Roy Huffington was a role model for many, and it is only fitting that others who have lived an exemplary life are acknowledged. Dr. Noon is indeed such a man. The award is based solely on one’s achievements and the shining example one has set for others. Previous honorees are Dr. Robert Roush in 2012, and Dr. William Butler in 2013.
