Young Women's Clinic
The Young Women's Clinic at Texas Children's Hospital specializes in the care of teenagers and young adult females ages10-24 years with menstrual, weight- related and stress-related conditions, especially in the context of sports, dance or academic performance. The clinic was established with the recognition that young women experience increasing stress from athletics and performance pressures, yet the cases are multifunctional and include psychological issues.
Medical care is provided by board-certified adolescent medicine specialists and sports medicine specialists in an interdisciplinary team approach. The team includes registered dieticians with sports medicine expertise, physical therapists and psychology professionals.
