Adolescent Medicine Clinic

The Adolescent Medicine Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital specializes in the comprehensive, confidential, and compassionate care for teenagers and young adults age 10-24 years. Medical care is provided by board certified adolescent medicine specialists. For many concerns, an interdisciplinary team approach is necessary and our registered dieticians, physical therapists, and psychology professionals may partner in treatment.

Patient Education

In addition to addressing the medical concerns of our patients, the Adolescent Medicine Clinic strives to encourage our patients to become knowledgeable about their health and responsible for caring for themselves as they transition into young adulthood and independence.
Clinical concerns frequently addressed:
  • Menstrual concerns (irregular, absent, heavy or painful periods)
  • Sexuality and general adolescent gynecological care
  • Sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment
  • Contraceptive services for all teens including those with chronic diseases or developmental delay
  • Chronic fatigue and chronic pain syndromes (examples: headache, abdominal pain)
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Overweight/Obesity
