Policy and Advocacy

The Policy and Advocacy domain of the Center for Clinical Effectiveness supports evidence based policymaking at the local, state and national levels. The integration of quality improvement into large infrastructures involves bridging the continuum of care across community health providers, clinics, emergency rooms, inpatient care settings, and primary care offices. The goal of the CCE is to address the return to the community while encouraging responsiveness of the community (lawmakers and other supporters).

The CCE partners with the Department of Government and Community Relations at Texas Children's Hospital to achieve this goal and participates in projects with others such as the Health Law and Policy Institute at the University of Houston Law Center. Additionally, CCE faculty hold positions on the Texas Pediatric Society Executive Board and the Pediatrics subcommittee of the Governor’s Emergency Trauma Advisory Committee (GETAC)

Additionally, the center hosts forums to explore current issues relating to pediatric healthcare in policy making at the local, state and national levels.
