The Baylor College of Medicine Pediatrics Alumni Association brings together fellow alum. We coordinate luncheons and offer the Blattner and Feigin lecture series.

President's Letter, January 2017

Dear Fellow Alumnus:

One of the more notable events over the past 67 years has been the Pediatric Postgraduate Symposium. Unfortunately, due to declining registration, the symposium has been canceled. The alumni association has used this venue over the years for the annual business meeting and distribution of donations. We are currently looking for an alternative opportunity and I would appreciate any suggestions from the alumni, especially those still located in the Houston area. My e-mail address is below.

Your annual dues of $35 and any additional contributions now support the Feigin and Blattner lectureships during the Grand Rounds series, as well as the Reba Michels Hill Scholarship Fund for resident research. This is in addition to the Baylor Pediatric Medical Student Association’s project to purchase infant car seats for indigent families at Ben Taub Hospital. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity and support. We are now over $328,000 in total contributions.

At the time of this printing, the Feigin lecturer was unannounced. The Blattner lecturer was Daniel B. Jernigan, M.D., M.P.H., Captain, U.S. Public Health Service and the director of the Influenza Division. His talk, entitled "CDC Response to Ebola in West Africa" was given Jan. 22, 2016 at Grand Rounds. All of the Grand Rounds speakers, including the above, are available.

We must also pause and recognize those alumni who have died this past year-Earl J. Brewer Jr., Dwain F. Dodson, and Aaron Mintz. If you are aware of any others who have passed away, please let me know.

This web page has a full directory searchable for name, state, specialty, and e-mail addresses when available. In addition, our list of missing alumni is here—please e-mail me if you have knowledge of their whereabouts. If you have any suggestions, additions or subtractions, please contact me at

The Alumni Association (aka Educational Foundation of the Baylor Pediatric Alumni Association) is recognized as a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (3)(c) of the Federal tax code.

Warm Regards,
