Academic General Pediatric Fellowship Program

The Academic General Pediatric Fellowship Program at Baylor College of Medicine is a three-year accredited program that combines training in research methodology, educational scholarship, multiple teaching opportunities in a variety of settings, and the refinement of clinical skills. Three tracks are available: education, research, and global health.

The training includes:

  • Completion of an educational or research project with the support and mentorship of faculty within the section and throughout Baylor College of Medicine
  • Completion of a Master of Science or Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center or a Master of Education degree from the University of Houston, which provides a framework for the fellow's educational or research project
  • Acquisition of knowledge and means to raise awareness regarding the impact of local and federal legislation on children, their families, and communities
  • Participation in a variety of non-traditional health care delivery systems, according to each fellow's interest
  • Development of management skills
  • Incorporation of each fellows' special areas of interest into the program
