Global Health Activities
Dr. Thuy Phung is a co-founder of the Vietnam Vascular Anomalies Center (VAC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Vietnam VAC is a medical clinic founded through partnerships between Vietnamese and U.S. physicians. Our mission is to provide humanitarian medical care for children with vascular birth defects, and to promote mutual collaboration between Vietnamese and U.S. physicians to improve the health of these children. Participating physicians in Boston and Houston travel to Vietnam each year to work with VAC physicians in the medical, laser and surgical management of vascular anomalies.
Dr. Phung and Dr. Martin Mihm (Harvard Medical School) also provide training in dermatopathology to pathologists and dermatologists in Vietnam. We will hold our first dermatopathology course in Ho Chi Minh City in February 2014.
