Friedman Honored with Excellence Award
Dr. Ellen Friedman, professor of otolaryngology and director of the Center for Professionalism in Medicine, attended the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings in Boston, where she was honored by the American Bronchoesophagology Association. The organization renamed one of its excellence awards the Ellen M. Friedman Award for Excellence in Foreign Body Management. The award acknowledges her leadership within the ABEA and her expertise in foreign body management. The award encourages continued leadership in endoscopic foreign body management and is given annually to a person who submits a winning paper that describes excellence in innovation, skill and education in the field. Sikora Speaks at Translational Research Meeting
Dr. Andrew Sikora, assistant professor of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery, was an invited speaker for the annual American Head and Neck Society Translational Research Meeting in Boston. He spoke about the effects of chemoradiotherapy on peripheral anti-tumor immunity in HPV-positive head and neck cancer patients.
