Statement of Goals:
This elective provides the student with experience in adult vascular surgery at the VAMC and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.
Learning Activities
The student is expected to round with residents and faculty on a daily basis. The elective will provide both operative experience, as well as the experience in the management of preoperative and postoperative vascular surgery patients. The student is expected to read on vascular surgery topics related to the patients on the service, as well as key journal articles related to vascular surgery.
Evaluation Methods
Grading System: H, HP, P, MP, F. Grade will be based upon evaluation by the attending physician. BCM students will receive an evaluation form from the Registrar’s Office with instructions on the completion and submission process. Visiting elective students should provide the Clerkship Coordinator and or the Visiting Elective Coordinator with a required evaluation form from their institution. If the student does not have an evaluation form, Baylor will provide one and have the student evaluated.
