Learning Activities
Teaching focuses on improving student's skills in evaluation of and treatment planning for psychiatric inpatients. Students experience firsthand the modern issues impacting inpatient psychiatric treatment, including public health issues, managed care and length of stay, forensic and ethical issues, such as involuntary commitment process, guardianship issues, and balancing resources while delivering safe and ethical care to psychiatric inpatients.
