Statement of Goals:
The goal of the objective is to improve the students' understanding of 1) the field of sports medicine (Block 2), 2) the basic principles of sports medicine injury diagnosis, physical examination (Block 3) , and 3)the rehabilitation, specifically the ankle and knee (Block 4).
Learning Activities
The elective consists of two classes per week (Tuesday and Thursday) with one didactic and one hands-on practical. Other activities will include the Medical coverage for the Susan Komen 5K on October 6th. Optional experience include football game coverage (evenings), training room (late afternoon), runners injury clinics (Saturday morning), and TCH Sports Medicine Clinics (Tuesday and Thursday afternoon).
Evaluation Methods
First class will be September 18, 2007 and ends on October 11th. Must attend all meetings to receive credit.
