Statement of Goals:
Special Non-Clinical Electives must be approved by Dr. Finch for students desiring a special type of elective research experience at BCM or an "away" lab research rotation at another institution. Special Non-Clinical Electives must have Department Coordinator approval to certify the course as equivalent to BCM elective course offerings. Non-Clinical Reasearch will be transcripted, however NON-CLINICAL ELECTIVES DO NOT COUNT TOWARD CREDIT FOR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS.
Learning Activities
Students should briefly summarize the project before submitting to the department for approval. A copy of the summary and approval should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar for registration. A Baylor Research Elective can be designed for the student to work closely with a faculty member and residents rotating in Pathology. Students attend and participate in conferences in their area of interest as well as general pathology activities. Reading assignments are tailored to meet the student's needs. Students may becomeinvolved in an ongoing project in their area of study.
Evaluation Methods
Grade: H,HP, P, MP, F Narrative Evaluation An Elective Grade Evaluation form must be returned to the Office of the Registrar in order to receive credit. Credit: 4 weeks full-time, 8 Credits (per 4 weeks) Non-Clinical Reasearch will be transcripted, however NON-CLINICAL ELECTIVES DO NOT COUNT TOWARD CREDIT FOR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS.
