Statement of Goals:
Prerequisites: Enrollment in M.D./M.B.A. program and advisor's approval. After completing two (2) semesters of the business curriculum in the combined M.D./M.B.A. program, the student will be asked to apply his/her management knowledge to a specific problem in a health care setting.
Learning Activities
Each student will work with his/her M.D./M.B.A advisor to arrange an appropriate experience. The student may choose to work in a hospital, clinic, managed care organization, biotechnology start-up firm or any other health care firm which agrees to sponsor him/her. It is expected that the student will spend 40 hours per week for eight (8) weeks in that setting and produce a final written project detailing his/her accomplishments.
