Course Description & Learning Objectives: | |||
The student will review plain films with the attending radiologist each day, observe the performance and interpretation of advanced imaging procedures, and attend all radiologic teaching conferences and relevant interdiscplinary conferences which occur during the elective period. He/she prepares a brief presentation on a imaging case selected by the student. He/she is expected to complete a short open-book exam based on a small textbook (copies are available to be checked out). The student will complete at least 20 on-line modules from the Cleveland Clinic's Pediatric Radiology Curriculum: (https://www.cchs.net/onlinelearning/cometvs10/pedrad/default.htm) The student will have access to the conference schedule and teaching files. |

1) Discuss challenges specific to imaging children and how these may affect choice of imaging modality. 2) Pediatric fractures. 3) Chest X-ray 4) Non-accidental trauma 5) Construct the appropriate imaging algorithm for common diagnostic scenarios |

Evaluation Methods | |||
Clinical performance 50% (feedback from faculty), open-book exam 20%, module completion 20%, case presentation 10%.
